My Ride: 2005 BMW525i 20 inch wheels, tinted tails windows, and headlights, acs style spoiler, painted calipers, HID fogs, angelibrights, 1999 Chevy S-10-lambo doors, retractable license plate, rims, lowered, custom thru body kit exhaust w/twin slash tips, ect..., 2007 gsxr750 fully modded.

I Lamin-x worth purchasing? ive heard of a few people "tinting' their taillights so if there is a better way what is it?

I don't like the look personally. That kinda mod is something
you would see on a Honda IMO

aside from tint film/overlays, some members will just have a shop paint them.....

Would that methods also work to cover up the eyebrow section? I hate the chrome look that surrounds the eyebrow and 6-LEDs.

hes not asking what you think of the mod. if you have information to offer rather than your opinion i think he would appreciate it.


As far as changing the tails. I looked into this mod as well. You can go two ways.

1. Tint the tails with the film that you are talking about. (downfall = the lights have that bump around the side and when you tint around that it seems to crack and become weak at that point because you have to heat it up and stretch it around the bump. therefore making it weak and it will crap and rip away.

2. Take the tails to a body shop and have them take the lights off and paint them. If i were you this is what i would do, unless you get the tint yourself and try to mod. If you can get it to look good and only have to spend a few dollars on the film then it is worth it.

i used tint film on both my E60's. i also had a set sprayed too. it just depends on the look you are going for. i was happy with both methods and never had an issue.

thanks for the feedback/idea's i was scared about the lip on the tail light so im thinking about getting them painted....never woulda thought painting them would work but....worth a try.

it's not a paint. it's a tint spray.

cool, so they can just add layers of spray for darker tint? anybody know a price range?
