I made another thread last night about where to find a tint shop in So. Cali.

I was busy with work today and didn't have a chance to get out. On my way
home from my office I was driving through Hermosa Beach when some bored
young cop decided to be an asshole and ride my ass for a good 2 miles.

I screwed with him as much as I legally could but after he realized I wasn't
robbing the local 7-11, he got bored with me and made a U-turn.

Anyways, for the people living in So. Cali.....what is your experience with
tint on your cars? Do the cops harass you?

And yes, I am 33 years old and I have a baby face. I own a highly successful
business but at the same time I dress in beach clothes and don't make any
effort to "play the part" of a CEO. I am what I am and if people don't like
me they can just piss off. So cops do tend to give me second and third
looks all the time. It gets old after a while....

I realize you can't tint the front two passenger windows, and I am planning on
doing like 10% or 15% for all four doors and the back window. Just a little
darker to keep out the sun in the summer. Nothing too ghetto.

thanks

What's the worst they can do? Fix-it ticket?

I have never been in trouble with the law before
and really don't want to get into it with one of them
because of some stupid antiquated tint law.

And yes, now I'm having second thoughts about getting
the tint job done. Don't want to hassle with bored cops
who have a hardon for guys who make more money than
they do.

we have a few respected/fellow members here that are in law enforcement and drive e60's. Please save the condescending tone for another forum. You drive a BMW, not a rolls royce, and even those owners don't walk on water

yes it is a fix-it ticket only, but yes the tint would be another excuse to stop you.

***on a side note, noticed you felt the need to mention "chinese ricer shops" in another thread.....was the extra ethnicity emphasis/reference really necessary...

That's a little uncalled for, and it's not ALWAYS about money! Knock the chip off of your shoulder, and just remember these men and women risk THEIR lives EVERYDAY and for YOU too! Tint them legally or risk tickets, pure and simple!

Not trying to start a flame war here.....but

When the bad guys are breaking into my house at night,
I would rather entrust my life to my two German friends,
Herr Heckler and Herr Koch, than I would to the police.

Tint laws are nothing more than a means for the government
to harass and annoy the local law-abiding populace.

And do I apologize... I did not mean to generalize because not all cops are like that.
One of my good friends from high school is a cop and he has my
total and complete respect.

I agree...BMW's are a dime a dozen, if you are that unconfrtable with cops and tints, then get over yourself and don't tint. As mentioned, the worst thing is a fix it ticket.
