First off, get the ceramic based tint, it won't affect your radio reception (remember, the antenna is in the rear window). I did the Huper Optik w/ the 50 (allows 50% of visble light though) on the driver and passenger door windows. Any installer worth his salt will know the local law, and my guy did, informing that the 50% was the darkest allowed of the front two windows. Of course he never said he wouldn't do darker, just informing me. For the rear two doors and the rear window, I went with the 40. It's a bit darker, but not a really dramatic difference that stands out. I'll attach a picture, but it was taken in the evening after I got home from work, so the tint looks darker than it really is. Check w/ your dealer, they likely know someone they have worked with before who does BMWs.

I saw 40% in front and 28% in rear and I thought is looked good. I also saw 20% all around and it was too dark for the front, imo. 20% for the rear is also kinda dark, especially at night when attempting to look out the rear window.

Huber Optik is more expensive but also keep the car much cooler.

Read this article<--- before you have your tint done. Also check out all the other info about tinting on the website.

This is what 34% Huper Optic ceramic looks like in the bright Texas sun. Cuts out 61% of the heat transfer and not as dark as the metallic I had on the last car.

to be more specific, just this out. it's from jimbo's link. make sure you go to a experienced tint shop and ask how many e60 have they tinted before. i was in a detail shop and they do tinting as well. they were tinting a c-class and have to remove all the door panels . i don't want my baby get rip apart like that :'(. that's why i don't tint mine.
