Those of you with 20's...
#1
hey, going to get a new set of 20's for my car, 20X9 F and 20X10 R. I was wondering what size tires to get ? I am leading towards a 245/35 20 up front and a 275/30 20 in the rear. I was wondering if anyone has tried this combo on their car and if so does it rub and also how bad it throws off the speedo considering its about an inch increase from the stock diameter. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I am curious - what are the benefits of 20" over my standard 18" sport rims - does it handle better or is it primarily for looks?
I would assume handling might be compromised as BMW engineers designed the car for 18" rims (assuming no suspension mods of course).
Any feedback to eliminate my ignorance would be appreciated.

Besides for the stiffer sidewall, wider wheels and tires definitely improve traction and handling. However, they may affect your straight line speed because of the increased rotational drag. Also, if you get heavy wheels, that would increase unsprung weight and further decrease performance and braking capabilities. If you go with larger wheels, you should aim to get lightweight forged wheels.
