i have my m5 166 arriving soon from Newport BMW (thanks to Garry and Scott, garry is on vacation till the 17th btw), and was just wondering if i should even lower it a bit more.

since my wheels are being changed out, i am also considering replacing rotors, brake pads to axxis ones (too much friggin' dust), and painting calipers semi-gloss black. a member had just posted his set-up and beat me to the punch looked sweet!

any experiences and opinions would be greatly appreciated! thanx

Can you post a pic once you get the wheels on. I have often thought of this if I got the 166 ones also. Not sure if it will need it or not. Would like to see yours before you lower it.

Do not lower your 545!!! It already comes extremely low with the stock 18s on. I just put 20" Asanti af 147s on mine and can barely fit my finger between the fender and tire. I will post pics tomorrow, but if you drop ur 545 on 19" rims, it'll most likely be even lower than mine. The suspension on the 545 is perfect!

I just installed my M5 wheels with the M6 offset on my 545. It does not need to be lowered. It looks perfect. Good luck

Really? The sport suspension does help vs not sport. Looks like I'll just be using that $300 plus install and put it towards rims. Thx for the input!

I would definately lower the car. I have a 545i with sport package and I first lowered it with H&R Sport springs with Bilstein Sport Shocks, but changed it out to KW V2 Coilovers.

Hey, did you rub when you had it lowered with the H&R Sport springs when you had the 20s on? i am debating whether to go 19in and H&Rs or 20in and stock sport suspension...

I have a 545i sport and have already scraped on some speed bumps so I am not going any lower. If it was a non sport that would be different...
