During the day, while having the lights off, as normal.

Is there some lights on the LCI models which stays on all the time, night and day, on or off, like the old Volvos use to have.

Is this new or is it a aftermarket mod?

Wouldnt mind to hear your comments.

If the DRL check box is checked, the angeleyes comes on in a stronger mode than parking lights mode (no eyebrows). The rear rods are also on. And when the sun goes down the xenon goes on instead of the angeleyes.

Correct.
On the pre-LCI models you only have the option to have the main beams (e.g Angle Eyes + Xenons) on the whole time when the engine is on. This is activated via the iDrive general vehicle settings menu.

(sorry, seem to be unable to write properly at the moment -- hope the explanation makes sense?! )

On my MY07 550, I have no option on my idrive to select DRL's. I asked the dealer to turn them on and now during the day, the centers of the inner lights are on all the time. These are also the high beams bulbs. No rear lights are on. I still do not have the option of shutting them off during the day.

This is only for LCI models.

I have 2007 550, Nov.07 build date. The selection of the DRL's is avaliable in IDrive.

Mine is a May 06 Build MY07 Model and I do not have this selection in my idrive menu. I am considering driving my car off a cliff.

Seriously, I wish my DRLs were like the LCI version.
