Has anyone ever looked into somehow modifying the travel of the telescoping steering wheel? I would be much more comfortable if the wheel could be adjusted another 1 - 1.5 inches (25-38mm) toward me. Are there stops or sensors that couild be moved or modified?

Does BMW ever do anything custom to accomodate Basketball players etc. with long legs.?

I would love a slightly longer cabin! It would give the poor slob sitting behind me the ability to take their foot out of my butt. (popping sound)

Actually Rudy,

I have limited access to a machine shop. Do you think you could dig up BMW instructions for removing the steering wheel? If the cabling is long enough, I don't see why I couldn't get a 1/2" to 1 1/2" thick "spacer collar" made, use longer bolts ect.

What do you think?

I don't know if I'd be messing with that sort of stuff -- to many things to worry about as far as crashworthiness, etc.

If you feel like playing around, take a look here and see if it helps:
