Me, you and bettermake ?
Dive, can you call him and ask if he can ship the piece ?
10% off is not a good discount ... It would be about ?900 or about ?1300 or about $1600 .
But it appears as the only solution if we want LSD .

Can we organize a group buy in the GB section ?

I can vouch for Birds Autos as well. They serviced by E39 540i for me, and were very good. They are far better than an offical BMW dealer as they actually seem to care about the work, and will try and repair parts rather than just telling you that you need a 'new module x' as the computer told them so....

I also have experience of the Quiafe ATB differentials. They are a very good choice for a road car. For out and out track work a ZF diff or similar gives better results, but they are often too aggressive for the road, and have noise/drivetrain shunt issues sometimes.

I'm picking up my 550i on friday, and after a month or two to get used to it I might well be making a trip to see Birds again!

Hey hey hey this is great news indeed. The only thing that worries me a little is the complexity of the work to be done with this mod. Since traveling to UK is out of the question, at least in the near future, then i do hope it's not that much of a fuss. 8-10 working hours kinda says it all, so it must be kinda difficult. My main concern is that i dunno how well trained are those mechanics over here, and i do REALLY hope that if Birds can ship it then they ship it with all possible fitting instructions (like for idiots).

Now where's that GB thread?

Don't worry, you will find someone, in your country, skilled enough to do the job .
Otherwise talk with your dealer!

Dlevi67 doesn't tested the car with LSD . Only Mr. Kevin has covered a pair of miles with it .
