I have noticed in the past few days that in 60 degree weather and above the run-flats arent so bad. It must be that the warmer weather makes them less rigid. I was wondering if anyone that has changed to PS2s in warm climates could still feel the big difference in ride quality that everone is talking about. I am about 99% ready to ditch the run-falts in about a month or so and am looking for some feed back.
Thanks

My RFT's have a good ride, but they, like my PS2's, which ride well too, still are new. So, I don't know what will happen to either after they age.

I live in Florida.

I recently switched from Dunlop runflats to Michelin PS2.

ABSOLUTELY the best thing I could have ever done to my car. It's like night vs. day. SO much better with the Michelins.

Don't even think 2 seconds about it. Just get Michelins.

End of story.

I don't know what sizes you're running, (OE or larger), but if it's available in the right size, the Pilot A/S, in my opinion, rides better than the PS2. Though it probably has less ultimate performance, it cetainly is less noisy and rides better with miles on it. Just my .02, which is what it's worth.

I have Pilot Sport A/S tires on my Lexus LS430 and Pilot Sport PS2s on my 550i. I also had Pilot Sport PS2s on my previous car, a Porsche 997S. I find the PS2s quieter than the A/S tires. I find the PS2s better handling, no loss of ride quality (maybe even and improvement) and it appears also improved gas mileage over the Bridgestone RFT that came on my car. The A/S is a directional tire, while the PS2 is not. ON the LExus with same size tires all around, tire rotation is only front to back. On the other hand with staggered tires/wheels on my 550i the tires can only be rotyated left to right. The only disadvantage, of course, is the PS2 will not run-while-flat. I have a space saver spare and tire/wheel insurance. We have been driving cars for years without RFTs. My Porsche came with no spare or jack, only a can of fix-a-flat and a tire pump. I bought a collapsible spare, but it consumed most of the available space in the front boot. Life is full of compromises.

When you say so much better thats a broad statement what do you mean? Handling, ride quality, proformance, wear or what? I'll be looking to make the change too but I'd like more information.TIA
cheers

Well from previous searches and disussions others have stated the following differences: Much improved ride quality, (the run-flats are like metal boots), less road noise and somewhat better tread life. My biggest concern is ride quality, the run-flats feel unstable to me, when taking a turn and going over a bump your car should not side skip over the bump!!! My previous E39 540 sport did not do this and it had a stiffer suspension than my current E60 550.

I feel no instability in the ride with PS2s. The tires and suspension stay planted.
