I noticed that Supersprint sells an exhaust with headers as well where as the RPI exhaust is from the axle back.

On previous cars I have upgraded headers and it actually made quite a difference for me. If emissions are not an issue do you think the SS exhaust would show better gains then the RPI since it is the entire exhaust being replaced?

Of course. The biggest restriction in most exhaust systems are the catalytic converters and the exhaust manifolds. Cat-backs are considered small play if you're looking for the highest performance gains.

I had Supersprint and RPI on my M5 and much prefer RPI. I'd never go back to Supersprint.

I too love RPI but on a non-M E60, RPI only makes an axle back exhaust. Suspersprint offers the whole shabang from the headers, cat/catless pipe, mid-pipe, and muffler.

Imagine going catless all the way back to an RPI axle back exhaust... can you say BEASTLY sounding!

I had SuperSprint on my old M3 and loved it. Great sound and I could tell a difference in the engine the first time I drove it. It wasn't as loud as the RPI which to me is a good thing. If you go with the headers all the way back I wold expect pretty impressive gains.

Don't mean to high jack this thread, but does anybody have sounds clips or video of the SS on a 535i?
