subwoofer installation

My Ride: Black 520i, Black leather interior, Active Steering, DSC, PDC, Ornamental grille, Audio Aux Input
putting in a 3rd party subwoofer in the trunk today with an additional amp. dealer says "100% sure" - also putting in a voltage stabiliser

i asked my dealer
and what they said was - the digital signals all get converted to pure analog stuff in kind of like a final common point before hitting the NORMAL analog speakers in the e60
so he's tapping that loom & the additional amp is just fed directly in a very normal electrical circuit to tap current from the battery
the complexity is with the head unit & idrive screen
he's so C**K sure that he can do it that he's given a money back guarantee

just found out that you can change all the stock speakers as well
except maybe the one in the front dash
'cos the thought of ripping out the dash & putting it back after gave my dealer cold sweats

just found out that there are speakers under my front seats! and the installation went ok - bass sounds great now - next.... capcitor & better speakers.....
