HI

New to the forum and was just looking for a little bit of help

I have a 2005 520d SE and i was looking to upgrade the subwoofers that are situated under the front seats

i have read a few posts and they all state that the is an amp in the boot on the left hand side

but in my car there is just the long box to the side of where the amp is and no amp

was hoping to get an insight on how to tap the lines for these subs from the aftermarket amp i have installed in the boot

any help would be greatly apreciated

Thanks

Dan

First; !

I believe you have the standard system which comes without most things you need to have some nice sound, but to be sure, please ask your closest dealer for a transcript of what's installed in your car.

P.S. Please also update what part of the world you live - if you only knew how much the same model differs from continent to continent.. I believe you're in the UK?

the standard sound system in the EU has only the mid bass speakers under the seats connected in parallel with the front door speakers without an amp. If you want I have my OEM Hi-FI subs and amp for sale.

To be honest, there is a limit to the quality of sound as the standard speaker size is only 4" and cannot reproduce good mid range sound... However, the set up i have now got is a vast improvement, but at a price. Even with the subs in the boot, there is good bass that comes through regardless of the ski hatch?!!!

Bruce Miranda,
I have EU style radio system, so no amp is installed. I just bought tweeters as additional speaker, however I read that you really do not advice to run this without an additional amp.

I read that you have your hifi subs and amp for sale.

Can this easily be retrofitted into my car and how much do you want for it?
