I have been experimenting with storage options contained within the subtrunk where the mini tire is stored. If I am running run flats - what purpose is the tire?

Can not the foam inserts be removed - I noticed that PDC electronics are housed in the bottom foam shell.

I have already repackagged the jack and cleared enough space for oil and maps. Is there any reason not remove all of this?Andthe foam insert are not efficiently desinged in terms of space use.

Don't know if it will help but here's a picture of what comes with your car if BMW doesn't ship the spare (I think Canada and possibly other countries.) Maybe this carpeted insert and dividers can be ordered?

(thanks to rollee for the pic...)

Rudy, interesting that they ship variations of the same car in different places. I believe that assemblies of the bottom, next unit and the top unit are unnecessary. I have already eliminated the top foam insert and looking at eliminating the bottom two units. I think you have unique offering in the sub-trunk area. I see this in general as great supplemental storage area. I already reversed the carpet to the non-slip plastic for storage.

Great Storing Analogs
