My Ride: 2004 BMW 645 black sapphire metallic, 19" Style 166 (245/40 & 285/35 w 15mm spacers)
Default

I installed 15 mm H&R spacers on the rear today. I'll post some pictures of the car before and after the installation. I think that 15 mm spacers for both rear wheels are a little bit too much, maybe should have taken 10 or 12 mm spacers, especially when comparing the proportion with the front wheels. What do you think? And yes, I know these Falken tires with 275/30 setup are too narrow for this wheel, I think that 285/30 with 10 mm spacers would have given the best result.

When comparing the proportion to the front wheels they are a little to much. But then comparing whith the rear fender it?s perfect. I am planing too put that set whith 12 mm in the rear

Looks good too me I think you should go for wider tires at the rear, adding aftermarket exhaust will be nice

Hi,

here is a pic with 13 mm spacers on 166:

they were pretty much aligned with the front which looked good.

i then went on and bought the 167 alloys. here is a picture and with offset 17, the pic below shows what it would look like if i used 11 mm spacers on 166:

personally - 11mm is too little, 13mm was great. i am now getting 3 mm spacers for the 167 alloys.

cheers rumman

I wish I knew what you all are talking about when you mention spacers. I've heard spacers, rings, and spigots. What's the diff between these? Will the 285/30/19s really fit, and what tire brand makes that size?

If you don't want to bother with spacers, rings, and spigots 285/30/19s are the way to go. Michelin, Goodyear, and Toyo makes tires in that size AFAIK.

Yes, but do you think that it's possible to mount 285 tires with 15 mm spacers?

Hmmm... If you did that wouldn't you then be pushing out the tire beyond the wheel well?

Yes, that's what I'm afraid of myself too. But still the car doesn't look very good when my alloys are wider than my tires. What should I do to fix the problem? Install smaller spacers and wider tire?

I think 285s will help out. Choosing the right tire manufacturer is also a step in the right direction.
