Sorry if this is a very noob question but why are they called "time attack?"
Hey Clarkk41 I did a little digging and came up with this...

A brief history lesson: Volk first debuted the CE28"Time Attack" wheel:

This wheel is/was super popular, so other companies have painted various wheels in a time-attack style, namely with a pinstripe. So many companies started doing this that time-attack became synomous with a thin pinstripe along the edge of the wheel, instead of with the TE37s. Why we can't just call it a pinstripe is beyond me, but everyone calls this a "time-attack."

Therefore, when someone wants to "fit a time attack on an ultralegga" it wouldn't make sense to anyone unless they are hip to this lingo. Anyone who knows about wheels, as I'm guessing Tire Rack reps do, wouldn't understand how you fit one wheel on another, that doesn't make any sense.

You can buy cheap vinyl pinstriping tape and "time-attack" your wheels yourself (which is removable when you get tired of it - bc you will, this is more played out than headlight covers in the 90s) or you could have a bodyshop or painter put something on your wheel for you more permanently.

Final tidbit of context, which you may have picked up if you've ever played Gran Turismo on Playstation or whatever, is that Time Attack can refer to a style of racing in which the person with the quickest lap(s) wins.

Hope this helps...

I got this from Audizine Forums

Looks good Ralph. I'll be doing the same to my 124's. When I get them on, we should meet up for a pic. We're going to look like twins. CN DBLE

Sounds good to me just let me know when and where

Thanks man. I was trying to figure out why they just didn't say red pin stripe lol. Thought it had something to do with clocking lap times or some junk lol

Yea winter already lol.... Actually, I was looking for a change and figured this would be a cool project to do. I can't see doing this when it's cold outside. Thanks for all who like it. I guess it's just a matter of personal preference. You can't please everyone.

The all black or "murdered" look would be nice but still all too common for me and wanted something different. I already got pulled over twice on my way to work
yeah just wish the strip was little thinner....
