Greetings all!

Several members have PM'd me with questions about my steering wheel mods, so I thought I would post here to give everyone the info on where I got the add-ons.

I have gone wood (so to speak ) with my interior trim. I have the wood shifter and e-brake handle. Many people have done this. I have extended this to my steering wheel to. Here is a picture:

I ordered the wood inserts from my local BMW dealer. Here are the part numbers I have for the two Poplar wood colors:

Dark Poplar: 32 30 0 397 915
Light Poplar: 32 30 0 406 384

The roundel stickers I bought from Bimmian.com. I ordered the "dark wood" ones, they also have "Light wood," which I am guessing would match the light Poplar wood. Here is a link to the webpage:

http://www.bimmian.com/ROU/60

I had to order a whole set of stickers, as they would not just send the steering wheel ones.

The inserts cost around $200 (I paid in Euro) and you have to remove the airbag to install them. The stickers were $25.

Well, that's the skinny on my steering wheel. I hope this helps!

Mh, I didn't know about those rims.

I don't like the basic wheel, but nice find!

Nice set up.................... got your car looking nice! how was it dealing with the air bag etc, I thought about doing the aluminum steering wheel insert then lost my nerve , with the air bag I had visions of it going off in my face !! ( i know before anyone puts a comment , you disconnect the battery first blah-blah-blah) looks good love the back with the diffuser thingy ...............well sharp

Thanks guys, I didn't do the install. I had to have the dealer replace the airbag because the BMW emblem was fadding (very odd). Anyway, since they had the airbag off, I had them put them in. I agree, I didn't want to mess with the airbag either.

The wood inserts are only 2 peices, not the upper part.
