Those back seats are quite thick and solid....it really depends on what your expectations are as far as bass goes...

For me I just gave up 1/2 of my trunk (i still have space to put stuff in there though) and put a JL Audio 12W7 with a ported box in there using technic's harness.

Let me tell you...it sounded quite a bit louder in my old car...but I am still happy with it...

This is what I have to say about one of JL Audio's most powerful subs in a PORTED box inside an E60 trunk...a stealthbox might produce much worse results.

That said...I only have a 600w amp to the sub...maybe when I upgrade to a 1000W things will be different. Best of luck..

P.S. if you put a sub in your trunk you need to find a way to eliminate the rattling from the rear center armrest/cup holders....i'm in the process of doing this myself

i had 2 10s at 700w rms each powered by 2 alpine amps. the bass was slamming hard but it was slamming hard and getting lost in the trunk.I wasnt feeling or hearing much of it in the car you have to cut the back seat out and/or rear deck to allow that bass to enter the cabin. the stealth box with the seat cut out should produce good crisp bass notes. nothing ridiclous where its gonna ake the neighborhood up but definalty enuff to rattle the car up a lil. the best results ive heard for this car was a ported box that was directly ported thru the rear deck. but that takes a big custom box and proper planning. so sticking the stealthbox in there will keep it clean simple and sounding good.(if u cut the rear seat out at the arm rest. i think the stealthbox is ridiclosuly overpriced tho

The keyword is....you have to CUT!!!!

I didnt want to...hence the reason I got such a heavy sub...you can CUT and get great bass from a mid-level subwoofer...or get a heavy sub that'll push through anything and put that in your trunk.

The question is would you rather cut holes in your car or lose trunk space?? Weight might also be an issue if you're into speed (that JL 12W7 weighs over 40lbs by itself not including the box which is another 40). Again for me, I didnt mind...plus I already had the sub/box from my old car.

Also...I agree the stealthbox is overpriced...there are much better things out there for the price you pay.

Had a L7 powered by a 1350 rms amp and the whole car felt like a massage chair at maximum output.
when i made a custom port behind the armrest, the cabin was filled with bass that made your hair dance to the beat...
Now a days... Logic 7 is more than enough and the sub/amp sits in a warehouse.
i do miss it from time to time, maybe i'll throw it back in.
