Default ST coilover fitment-spacers needed for front?

Guys,
Just purchased some ST coilovers from a great member here and was wondering if I'll be needing any spacers due to clearance issues on the front? I'll still be running my 172s on my 550i and a few websites selling the shocks state that spacers "may" be needed. Hoping anyone that has installed these can report if spacers are needed with stock wheels? Searched and didn't find much. Thanks!

I never had 172's but I dont see a stock wheel needing spacers to fit, now if you're talking aesthetics maybe but to just fit the rim. Highly doubt it stock wheels are that wide. The coil body is thinner then stocker and the perch you can put where you want for height. I do have ST's.

Cool, thanks for the reply Quarta2six. Hopefully that's the case.

So it does depend on the offsets of the wheels. When you go to a CO system you now need to deal with a spring perch that is wider then most oem shock bodies. So when you lower the car your chance of hitting the wheel goes up. In the case of my V2's, which share a similar design to the ST, I need a 10 mm spacer to run my stock 124's. Your oem offsets are pretty conservative so I will go with yes you will need spacers most likely.

My Ride: I have a 2007 Black Sapphire BMW 530i with SMG. It has the auburn interior, has PDC, Sports Package, Premium Package, rear automatic sunshades with manual side sunshades, 35% black tint, Upgraded angeleyes from Angelibrights, and Logic 7 Sound System

I got KWv3 coilovers and my 2 sets of wheels do not fit because they hit the spring perch. You will need a 10mm spacer in the front for sure to clear the perch. I might have to get the m5 fenders to accommodate my wider stance.
