I know it made a big difference on my 08 535i that I have had less than a month. The sport mode should be called tire liquefier mode, cause it now gets up to speed in a hurry instead of the full pedal travel to the floor.

Does anyone know if the sprintbooster
is necessary for a 2008 550i LCI since

The main reason that the Sprint Booster has not been advertised in the U.S. is because it has just become available to the North American market via a domestic source. Mini Mania has recently secured an official distributorship from the manufacturer. To find out more about the Sprint Booster you can visit this site http://www.sprintboostersales.com . As far as availability for 2008 models, I can check that if you would like me to...let me know at billz@minimania.com

no error messages on the 08 if installed correctly.
Hi JDoug,
I am thinking of getting one for my 2008 550i. Is it difficult to install, I notice you mention "installed correctly" above?
Thanks

No it's not hard , takes about 10-15mins, a Hex wrench ( I think a #6 metric) , a small flat head or knife ( for popping a bolt cover off) , and not nessicary but for "clean" install a knife, razor blade, sissor. A flash light is handy too but not realy needed.
The installed incorrectly would have to do with matching the connector pins correctly ( they are numbered on the connector head) with the SB connector. Some people have put the connector on upside down or bent a pin on one of the connectors when installing , causing an Error code to come up.
I litteraly put this in and put a carbon fiber grill in in 15 mins. no joke!
Also there are some group buys going on right now to save you some bucks on it in the Group buys section.
The Benz guys love them. Two versions , Manual and Auto ( includes the Steptrnic, Sport auto, and SMG I belive).
It does not add HP, just drasticly speeds up the throtal responce.
