What size bit do I need to remove the screws out of the pedal? I have tried to use a Torx T8 size bit and that does not seem to work. I am afraid that I have already maybe striped one of the screws. Any help you can provide would be much appreciated.

There are about 10 different threads in the DIY section on installation, not to mention a couple Pfds floating around.
For one thing if you are using a Torx head bit you are using the wrong tool, ..... try some Hex/Allen keys I believe #6 metric, but before that you needed to pry the cap off the top of the bolt with a knife or small flat head. Other than that you really don't need any other tools, but a razor blade can help with the carpet.

this will help
Also check one of the big group buy threads , there is a pdf in there from the maker.
