Hey all,
I got my SB in the mail today and I'm waiting for the weather to change so I can perform the install.
Since I'm waiting on Mother Nature, I thought it would be a good time to double / triple check with you guys on what would be the best way to install and hide the wiring harness.

I did do a search on this and VT had posted some good pics on what to do for the install.
Hex screw removal and removal of the pedal and so forth.
But what I would really like to see are some pics posted on where you guys decided to hide the harness and what steps you took to do this.

I found that some of you have cut into the carpet and tucked it in there, Pics would be appreciated.

Outcome of mod : I would like it to have a clean look, and hopefully no pins are bent so I don't run into any error messages and so forth.

Thanks in advance for your help,
Audi_Eatter

Match up the numbers ( look on the plug sockets before you take them apart) and take your time pushing it together.

Get a box cutter and enlarge the whole in the carpet in which the wireing loom is coming out from the fire wall, and simply just push the excess part of the wiring and SB back up under the carpet.

I just installed mine this weekend. I had a defective one at first, but now it is working.

I did not try to hide the wires. Yes, you can see them on the side a bit, but how many people actually look underneath your pedal?

Best regards,
Richard

I too wanted it to look clean with no wires protruding. I made a very small cut to the existing flap in the carpert (only a couple of mm) with a razor blade and was able to squeeze the unit and the surplus wire to the right hand side of the excelarator pedal. I found it was made easier by leveraging up the carpert from the bottom hole (where the pedal bols on) with a large screw driver. It is a little more difficult to get the pedal onto the metal tab once the SB is under the capret however with a little persistance you should have no trouble. I would take a pic but it looks just the same as stock once done.
Good luck, however i am sure you won't need it as it is quite a simple process.
I love the SB, it is felt a little odd initally (sensative) but once you get used to it you will love it. I personally found that the steptronic was a bit confused with the gear changes after the instal so i reset it and now she it is all good!!!!

Thanks for the input guys.
When you say "reset" the steptronic, do you mean when holding the peddle down for the 30 seconds with the key turned just as the instrument lights come on? That type of reset?

It's a great day out today, I'll be able to install the SB tonight

Also.... can someone tell me what size hex wrench that bolt on the peddle is???

thanks again...

Sorry if this is redundent but how do I do this reset? And should I do it automatically after I install my SB?

Thanks,
Jake
