Yes, when I have my wife and mother in law in the car, I tend to keep it in D at low speeds. When they are not with me, I have grown to like largely keeping the Steptronic in manual mode. The Step's manual mode, while nowhere near a SMG, is the most responsive and fast of any auto trans I have ever had.

 

I LOVE mine and remember, if you buy it and want to get rid of it, they really do retain their value quite well.
