Spraying Pearl black window trim
Greetings everyone. I want to get your input on some ideas.
Next week in taking my car into the booth to spray the chrome window trim, pillar trim, roof all pearl black... My question is should I do the mirror trim too?
All the trim with exception of the pillars will be taken off and sprayed. Just want your input on the mirror trim. So basically the black ring around the outside of a standard e60 mirror and as well as where it mounts to the car.
The car color is silver gray metallic

Bill, what exactly in black pearl? I'm thinking a black that has iridescence or (maybe I should learn to spell it first) color changing properties. If thats it, I think you should do the mirrors as well. Otherwise, if the color is close, maybe skip it.

The color will be glossy.. and as far as the pearl it will be a mixing black for example a simple 668. With some powdered pearl. Where I can mix colors we have bottles of pearl either powdered or liquid pearl to add to the paint.
I want it to barely be Noticeable so in the sun you can see those shiny glittery fine pearls. There are no color changing properties. I really like the look of the gloss trim on the m5. When it's done or I do a spray out I'll snap some pictures
It will look almost like a metallic paint, however the pearls are much finer and do not have any red, blue, green flake in it per say. It will all be very fine white pearl

Interesting, I think it will look nice. I've not played with any of the pearls except for a long time ago. Back then I used some pearl flip flop on white GPZ and then a 280zx.

Sprayed it today. Maybe should have out more pearl in it. Really gotta look close to see it. I'll snap some better pics later. Might go take a shot of it in the sunlight and do a quick upload. The shadow line is still curing/drying so untill tomorrow all I have to show painted is the pillar trim

Got all the trim in today.. Oh is the gloss window trim sexy.
I have more buffing to do but I will take some pics. You won't really notice it to much in pics. Will take some pics today or tomorrow.
