Sorry to dig an old-ish thread up.... I recently got an e60 LCI auto. The previous owner fitted a SAT paddleshift steering wheel thinking it would be plug and play, which we all know it isn't.!

I wan't to get this working and I know how to code with BMW standard tools. The PreLCI looks easy enough to wire up, the paddle shift switch just interrupts the shifters manual mode signal. However I'm nut sure how to wire this up for the LCI model...

I've looked at the EGS in NCS expert and enabled the "PADDLES" option, but this hasn't worked. Any ideas how to these working on the LCI e60?

Would it be possible to retrofit the peddles to my existing 205 520i sport steering wheel just for the looks? I don't need the functions.

Whoa! Hold your horses! Sorry I haven't been on here in a while as I sold my 535. If you look a few pages back on this thread I gave a HUGE how-to and this very setup you are using worked without a hiccup in my car. PM me and we'll figure this out, even if it means getting you some different parts.

Hello again guys!! Hope all is well!!

I recently got auto fold m5 flmirrors fitted and coded.

Now I have an issue which I hope you guys can help!!

When I press sports button I no longer have hard steering!! I have everything else such as sports on cluster and rev matching with gears s1-s6.

Hi Kadir,

Hope you are well.

Recently I helped someone fix the exact same problem, you need to read your KGM module and set the following parameter as below by coding it back to the KGM using the NCSEXPERT MAN profile. In your case maybe someone defaulted the settings when you coded the M5 mirrors hence losing your heavy steering.

Hi guys, I'm new... I've read a lot in this 3d and i began to make retrofit of paddle shifter in my just bought E63

My E63 is 2007/03 and is a pre-LCI

I've bought M6 steering with illuminated paddles

I've run wires from pin 12 and 13 from connector X1880 rear of steering wheel to pin 4 and pin 3 connector X6301 (8 pin white connector)

I checked with ISTA-D and i can read paddle state correctly in SZL ecu, but when i drive and i press paddle nothing happen...

I miss something?

Thanks for your help!

This thread is for LCi cars not Pre LCi cars.
The fitting and coding is totally different.

Hi guys,

First of all - very informative thread.

Now to the point, I have an e60 535d LCI , without the SAT. I retrofitted the gear lever and module without the paddles, after that it was coded and everything worked fine. A couple of months ago i got my car's software on all modules updated and then the lever wouldn't go into sport , it just shifts back to drive.

I went to guy who coded it and he redid the coding - the shifter worked fine and everything , but there was a new issue. When going WOT it wont shift up , it just bogs at 5k and stays untill I manually upshift. It is the same sittuation in all modes. Everything works ok when driving normal , but as soon as i give it the beans it doesn't want to upshift..

So any ideas what could cause this issue?
