I didn't do this part of the install myself, the mechanic did, but I believe it is correct as you sum up, i.e. " a new wire from from szl connector pin13 to the x6031 (from inside the car to outside-engineroom) and then connect the new wire with the pin 11 red/white wire... on x6031

ok navarroone ... thanks a lot.

"In the Copenhagen area, Terminalen Amager (Peter & Frank) now has experience with this."

Are these persons bmw-mechanic ? can i write to them ?

my problem now is that the wiring scheme, untill the LCI was on the BMW WDS ... the wiring scheme for LCI is only
BMW ISTA now ... so i can not checking the important thing with the wires and the connectors x1880 and x6031 ...

is there someone who used your DIY here in the forum (which i can ask)?
you and Wpg550 used the bmw mechanic and haven`t done by yourself.

The good news today ... i have all parts now :-)

Sorry mate, I don't know them that well and don't have their email nor do I get the impression they would engage in correspondence on the how-to's. As you have wire color description and location of the box I should think it possible to sort it out on your own?

thats not possible the wiring scheme, untill LCI was on the BMW WDS ... the wiring scheme for LCI is only
BMW ISTA now but a check first by connection scheme is a lot easier .

i will contact my bmw dealer - maybe i get the lci connection scheme for the thing i need .

@Wpg550

Is this also at you car thats there no "sport" in the instrument cluster to see ?

Now i have all hardware ... the last missed was the wheel .
I get it from ebay.de and payed 360 ? - its like new.
Next week i have a date at BMW-dealer an i will ask for the wiring scheme an SIB in German Language.

Stay tuned & greez Bert

I do have "sport" displayed in the instrument cluster when the sport button is pressed. Not sure what the difference was between NavarrOne's install and mine, however everything else seems to work.

@Wpg550 / NavarroOne

Is this the 61-31-6-976-397 Wiring set (for paddles to SZL) ?

i think so but i am not 100% sure.

Does the complete wheel only have one wiring ?

Sorry Bert... I don't think NavarroOne or I can help here -- both of us had the installs done by the dealer. You might try a new thread to ask the guys who have done steering wheel retrofits as they might know better whether there is more than one connector for the wiring harness for the wheel.

Good luck!

@Wpg550

post #187 is answered

but today i looked for the place where connector X6031 is.
I think this is it ... but i am not realy sure.

On this connector (picture) is pin 10 and 11 blank.
i could not find a red-white cable.
