SportContact2 vs. SportContact3.

If these are your only 2 choices, which one and why?

Thanks.

I'm curious too. I learned the expensive way that a manufacturers endorsement of an OEM tire really counts for something. I put michelin pilot sport 2s on my 550 and the car became nervous. They work great on an M car, but not on a 550 in my experience. I think the Cont Sportcontact 2s, which I now have, give very good grip (not as much as the Michelins) but they are more forgiving and better suited for a semi-luxury application. So if the sportcontact 3s are more like the PS2s, probably better to stick with the OEM contis?

Check to see what cars, if any, come with the sportcontact 3s as OEM?

- you can't beat these contis 2s for the money. They are 1/2 as much as the Michelins were!

Good luck.

Apparently the CSC3 is supposed to replace the CSC2. See the discussion with TireRack rep on this thread.

Check reviews at Discount Tire and especially Tire Rack. Very detailed for a variety of factors, hydroplaning, snow, noise, rain, traction, etc.

No Continental summer tires for me anymore.
The winter ones are very good.

But I suppose newer are better, the 3's.

SC3, they war better, the SC2's wear quite quickly.

Personally I would go for Mich PS2 or Bridgestone RE050
