Default Spark plugs on the B5

I decided to change the spark plugs on the B5 myself its normally a job I would leave to BMW at Boston UK to do they have been done twice by them. But this time I thought would have a go and I find yet again they have f%$! up this time they put the wrong ones in (see photo ) it has stickers on the rocker covers from Alpina stating only use PFR7B for gods sake but low and behold what I got out was IZFR6H11 with excessive electrode erosion. I don't let them do the oil filter because they put the wrong one in but you would have thought they would get the spark plugs right. also when I got going into the job someone must have lost a bolt for the strut brace three the same one odd one

I can guarantee there is a price difference and they charged you for the one they did not put in. Not much you can do at this point put change them out unless you are close where you can take it back and complain. How many miles do you have on your car to have them done twice already. The plugs should be rated at 100K miles. If you are at a closer dealership I would definitely take it back and change the plugs and get the bolt replaced for free.

The computer in the B5 says 39000mls when you reset after new plugs!

Oh ok. What type of plugs are getting put in the car. I thought all e60s were 100K in idrive after reset. NGK/Bosch platimun 4 is rated at 100K but I gues for your car they require to change more often. Of course I would not run my plugs 100k but I do run them 70K. Have you taken your plugs out? If so, how do they look.

Pretty sure 535 is not 100K. Turbos are hard on spark plugs.

Believe the 535s are something like 45k miles and use a totally different plug. different thread pitch, 12-point thin-wall socket required, etc.

I know they are different models but they are still platinum plugs which are rated at 100K. I do understand why you would replace more frequently now. I forgot about the turbo.
