Unhappy

Hello guys!

What size spacers should I get for style 128 without sacrificing ride quality? I saw a couple of options from 2 really nice forum members to either get 12mm or 15mm. Maybe all of you can pitch in a bit and guide me through this tough process!

I would idealy like to get agressive real look without giving up the decency factor and sacrifing ride quality.

Thanks

having spacers will not affect ride quality. it will only widen the stance of the rear with those wheels and give them a more flushed look with the fenders.

........a high torque engine can do some pretty nasty damage to a wheel / spacer set up !! I agree that the look is cool BUT there are some downsides .................

I dunno about that. 530i doesn't have mind-numbing torque.

What was your reason to dislike them?

Why would you pick to not use spacers?
Spacers are = to god if you want your rims flush but they are the wrong offset...

I have 20mm spacers with #166 wheels. I cannot report any problems. They look really nice, and I have only had one event (a huge pothole) where I heard the tire scrape on the well (just a little with no visable evidence of any scraping).

GO WIDE AND ENJOY!!!!

Just look at this site for any sign of someone reporting a problem with spacers. You probably will not find any. Live free!!!!

thin ones are more trouble than they are worth. Thicker ones DO put more stress on the wheel bearings, and they do cause issues down the road..granted, a wider and more aggressive ET wheel will do the same. Poorly made ones cause wheel balance issues as well. Mounting that wheel direclty to the hub is best, so I choose to do that over appearance. Claims of improved handling are hogwash as well, especially with spacers most enthusiasts use. this is just my personal take on them after years or toying with them
