Hi.
I have tried to search for the answer to the following question without success.

I currently have 172M wheels (32mm offset rear)on my car with 15mm spacers on the rear to bring rear down to ET17 so wheels look nice. I am currently bidding for a used set of 166 M5 alloys with rear offset of 28mm. I know lots of people put 10-12mm spacers on when putting on M5 offset wheels to bring offset down to near M6 offset for a better look.

My question is will I be able to keep my existing 15mm spacers which will bring the ET28 M5 166 alloys down to ET13 without rubbing. Seems expensive to buy 12mm spacers when I've already got a good set of 15mm.

Many Thanks

You current wheels are not rubbing? Because my current wheels are 8 inch width and ET20 and are 22mm more inside than yours (calculated with this http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp) , and everybody who had 22mm extension than my current wheels was rubbing, for sure it will rub if you get the m5 alloys.

This is in theory, you should try after you buy them with 15 mm spacers and even consider rolling the fender if it rubs.
