OK, I ordered mine from some dude on ebay.
I still haven't received it, but now that I'm looking at the pictures, I see that it looks signifficantly different than others.
While some look like a thick cable with two connectors, it seems the one that I ordered is just a pass-through type of thingie without any cable...
Did I get shafted and got a placebo or did I get the SB 2.0?

Here's the one that is supposedly on its way:

The one I have comes with a red cable and plugs on both ends. It looks different from the one on ebay. I haven't caught up with the latest, maybe there is a v2.0.

Right, the one with the red cable is what I've seen before... I wasn't paying attention and now that I look at it... it's totally different.
Since you've already installed one, does this thing look like I'd be able to even install it?

I think so. As long as that has the correct male and female plugs. This should be installed between the gas pedal and that cable from the car. GL.

That's nothing like the one I have. I don't see how it will mate up, but maybe I'm missing something.

Perhaps you should wait until you actually receive it. It looks like that auction is just using a generic/stock photo to represent specific applications.

Thanks a lot guys... I hope I'm indeed getting all worked up over nothing.
I know it's only 300 bucks, but I still don't like getting screwed like this, especially if there's a guaranteed and recommended seller on the board.
Haven't been burned on ebay yet, and I hope this is not my first time.

I know this is a little bit of talking in hindsight. But why did you go eBay instead of the guy (Andy Wang?) whom many here bought the SB from?

Quick Reply: Sorry for the 1000000000th SB thread, but is there a new one out there
