I have had all-weather mats in two e60s now (both 6MT) and I am getting extremely annoyed by the fact that there seems to be no way to keep the driver's mat in place. Not sure if it happens to everyone, or just MT drivers, but the mat constantly slides forward. On the floor, there seem to be two holes (where every single other car in the world has hooks/fasteners), but there is nothing there. I know the stock mats use velcro, which is beyond lame, but has anyone else noticed this and/or come up with a solution?

Thanks!

hmm....my 545i had the hooks that went into the holes.

possible solution: hit target or walmart and go to the home section...find some small plactic hooks that would fit into the holes (black preferably) then get your self some velcro tape, cut a small amount, tape the hook side of the velcro tape to the back of your plastic hooks, plop them on the carpet floor of ur bmw and then drop down your mats. the velcro will hold onto the carpet, the hooks will hold on to ur mat and you will hold on to ur sanity

Same problem here. However there is a velcro pad under it in a hole and it poorly sticks to the velcro that is attached to a rubber mat.

My all-weather mats came with 4 hooks (2 for each front mat) - self-tapping plastic screws on the bottom you push through the carpet. At least they were supposed to, as the dealer forgot to include when I purchased. Had the same problem as you but after a little research, I went back and got them no charge.

My car has plastic discs that click into the floorboard and they have the hooks on one side. the floormats have the velcro padding.

Eventually the padding wears out over time and needs to be replaced.

Thanks! I am on it. Will also get new wiring harnesses for my LCI tails as the terminals (from brown wire) are starting to melt due to insufficient grounding. There is a self-fix thread on here, looking for forward to some DIYs, and of course mounting my 20's once the winter ends!
