My Ride: 2008 Silver 535i Virgin--Becoming a Beast!
Default

Hello Boys and Girls!

After a 3 year Hiatus, I'm back to the still very fertile land of e60.net!

Recently divorced of both wife and my e93, I've within the week acquired a 2008 Titanium Silver 535i Sport Package. She is soooooo virgin and ready to Mod. Obviously I'm going to need the help of many of you here.

Considering myself a modder supreme, I'm fairly confident of doing what I want quickly and efficiently. Unfortunately due to a rather large alimony/child support monthly nut, I'm not going 3 piece for shoes.

But I'm really set on the following rims, Eurosport Monza's Machined Matte Black on 19x8.5 and 19x9.5 Staggered.

Additionally here are mods on the very near horizon. (I request you to please chime in on anything I might be leaving out or something you think would be a great addition
  • Blacked Out Kidney Grills
  • Carbon Fiber Mirror Covers
  • Carbon Fiber Roundels and Wheel Caps on the Eurosport Monza's(Contemplating Authentic ACS Wheel Caps)
  • ACS Style Roof Spoiler
  • ACS Style Trunk Spoiler
  • ACS Style Front Lip Spoiler
  • ACS Seat Belt Pads(Gotta Love eBay)
  • Blacked out Exhaust Pipes
  • Dark Las Vegas Tint
  • RPI Scoops (Eloy what is up!)
  • 10 Watt Angel Eyes(Trinity Hook a Brother Up)
  • Bimmian Black 535i Badge
  • HID Fogs
  • Cobb Access Port (unless one of you can convince me to go JB4 instead)
What is all this "Wrapping" people are talking about? Carbon Fiber wrapping in the inside? What can be done on the outside?

Also, what about Intakes, Downpipes and, a new Oil Cooler and Blowoff valve?

It's really great to be back and I definitely look forward to re-engaging with so many of you.

Many Blessings to you all and Thanks for your Input!

Go COBB AP, you wont regret it

As for intakes, you'll need a DCI if you want to go to Stage II on the Cobb, go with the stage 2 AFE, its a bit pricey, but I think its worth it

Downpipes - AR Design, unless you can get someone to custom fabricate it (which is very expensive)

Oil Cooler - get an Earls or Setrab core, do custom lines and save yourself about $700-800 of the ridiculously overpriced ones

BOV - not necessary unless you absolutely have to have the sound.

Welcome back and happy modding. . . this was just my .02 by the way.

For a tune go JB4 by far the best, dont waste your money on an intake cause most are not truly cold air intakes and will only soak hot air from your motor. DP's AR design, the best but a pain to install.

ok so i know what an OCC does and everything but is it really worth it?

if your gunna run higher than stock boost (we know you will hehe) youd want a better charge pipe. so you might as well get the BOV since it comes with it haha!

Can't wait for COBB. What kind of stoplight torque do you truly notice when have a "perfect map" for your car's mods? Are we talking the car is 4.6 0-60mph now?

As for intakes, you'll need a DCI if you want to go to Stage II on the Cobb, go with the stage 2 AFE, its a bit pricey, but I think its worth it

What is DCI? Sorry so stupid.

Downpipes - AR Design, unless you can get someone to custom fabricate it (which is very expensive)

Think I'll avoid Downpipes for now.

Oil Cooler - get an Earls or Setrab core, do custom lines and save yourself about $700-800 of the ridiculously overpriced ones

Cool. Will probably want more information from you about this. What kind of cost are we talking and who in Vegas/So Cal would do this?

BOV - not necessary unless you absolutely have to have the sound.

After coming out of e93 with sickest Powerchip Tune and RPI Exhaust, prefer to be more stealthy now.

Welcome back and happy modding. . . this was just my .02 by the way.
Great advice...thanks brother!

Copy. Think I want Cobb because I'm clueless under the hood. But I fully respect the JB4 and know it's sick.

I don't know. Is it?

Good Call! And it's not that expensive. Active Autowerkes the best?

Great point. I think I already have it but not sure. Probably not. Forgot what it looks like. LOL. Had it on my 08 550i MTech.

Thanks to all who responded.

I have more questions for sure. But will wait until I see the answers to the ones above.

Have a great weekend all!

Welcome back Jay! Sorry to hear about the wifey and m3.
Glad to see your modding again. Good choice with the '08 535.
Check with Eloy first before you do anything. I would get the RPI/ESS ecu tune, the full exhaust, scoops and filter. I'll post some vids of the RPI exhaust later
