I would really like to have my ipod installed in my 5'er and be able to control it from the main screen. I refuse to pay $600 though! Are there any cheaper options for ipod intergration?

Many of us buy and install it ourselves, THEN pay the dealer to program the car to recognize it. A smaller number of us will program the car ourselves also.
Ask you dealer how much they will charge just to program for the Ipod module if you install it yourself.
