I think it takes a bit of an aggressive exterior for a white car to pull off smoked. My personal opinion is it needs to be a subtle smoke. Not super super dark.

That white e60 with smoked tails does look good.
Ya even with black rims?

Just got my quote from Jon's Tinted Tails....

Sounds like a good deal and I'll get my side markers done as well. I'll have to be with out my ride for a few days though.
hey, how much did they quote you plus shipping? I just sent an email also, I am going for the stage 2 custom job with just the red portion smoked a medium tint 30% and leaving the white portion untinted.

got mine from lamin-x.com, it's DIY, it's pretty easy to install except for the curves. here's a pic of mine.

or you can try carcustomz.com, their price is more competitive!

Cool, and for that price if I don't like it, no big deal.

Did it originally cover the white part at the top or did you cut it that way. I want to cover the hole thing.

Just don't get the ones from ebay. I forgot the seller but the tints were way off. After that, I just went to a shop and got it tinted for about $100.

Can any window tinting shop also tint taillights, what is a reasonable price to pay? Spray or Tint/Film?

I asked several. Some do it, some don't. I paid $100. I got the tints because I didn't want to take the tail lights to get it painted. But if you have the option, spray it.

here in Los Angeles, I went to about 4 tint shop locations and none of them wants or do tint tail lights because they said it is illegal and cops now a days are hot on tinted tails. The reason being it is illegal they said is that because it might cause accident, drivers behind you might not see your break light from behind, but then again it must be a stupid driver for not to see that you are about to stop. But I think if you leave a hint of red it's ok.
