Does anyone know if the E60 M5 SMG shifter will fit in the standard 5 series SMG lever? I think I want to replace the shfter with the M5s one when it comes out.

Anyone else thought about doing this crazy stunt?

One of my BMW technicians put the SMG lever on his 3 series 6 sp - said it looked and worked great.

The part is not out yet, so no one can answer the question. I love that shift knob, too. The stock SMG shift knob looks dumb

Agree, don't like the normal SMG knob. Does anyone know how much the shift knobs (in general) cost? I want to get the M3 SMG one..

Whats wrong witht he M logo? I'm not trying to pose as a M5. I will keep my 545i badge... plenty of other regular non M models have M badges on them because they are M parts. IE 3 series Wheels, Steering wheel

I wasn't saying you were. I just don't want the M. Maybe if they could make a new one for us with a BMW logo instead I would be inclined to purchase. Just my opinion.
