I have 63,000. I don't drive slow I mean, on highway I put 3rd at 70mph to overtake & 2nd at 50mph just going crazy all the time.

hmmmm, I never heard that SMG requires flywheel to be replaced at the same time.
However, it's relatively inexpensive so good idea to replace everything while replacing the clutch.

I added whole thing and still comes out $590. and like I mentioned, you can receive 25% off from Gary which is about $442.
So.. I'm sure there are some few parts missing here and there but the most expensive parts are covered already so I can't see how can it be $1280??
So I got my car back from mechanic today with the new flywheel. I called few places all say same, I can't just buy clutch for 550i SMG you need whole flywheel(reg. price $1,478) my friend at the dealer got it for $1,230(with tax) + $700 I paid for labor ( f....n aftermarket warranty didn't cover it ). I checked link you send me there it's same think, I think you can buy just a clutch for 545i SMG not for 550i SMG.

Hi Guys, I am having the same issue on my 650iSMG. I took it to BMW manhattan and they are trying to charge me 5,000.00 to change the clutch and flywheel.. Who is Gary? I would like to buy the Clutch and Flywwheel and take it to a local shop. or if someone can recommmend a shop with decent labor prices that has worked on SMG clutch replacement.
Thanks

How much did they charge for parts and labor to change your SMG clutch... Do you know someone who gets discounts at BMW parts...?

it's not just a set price. They need to see the car and see what needs to be replaced. I don't want to quote you a price and when you go it's higher. Have them check it first. Tell them John with the HIDs sent you and they'll take care of you. I am there a lot too. Feel free to call me when ur going and see if I'm there.
