Probably not... since the new one is electronic and the old Pre-LCI uses a manual mechanism to select P R N and D... actually for the right amount of $$$ anything is possible.

As EBM says. This can't be retro fitted on pre LCI. However, retro fit on a LCI is very easy. A few people including me have done this.

I think it will require some sort of ECU reprogramming? I am not certain how the car would recogniize the "Sport mode" feature?

I'm well chuffed, I bought the above SAT shifter from ebay, it even came with the ECU unit and the console cover was in the leather trim !
Bargaintastic @ ?110 delivered, I priced all the parts from my local dealer and they quoted ?436 !
Console cover ?70.37
Sat Shifter ?121.58
Sport button ?45.65
ECU Unit ?199

Now just to wait until the snow is away to fit it, don't fancy doing it in the freezing cold !

I cannot tell if you have an LCI E60, but if you have, this is the DIY you'll need:

Good luck!

Yeah i've got the DIY pdf, had a good look over it before I bought the shifter, looks pretty easy to do. My car is a 09 LCI 525i M Sport.

Cheers

I'd like to know if anyone hacked just the handle and installed it on a pre LCI shaft for the gearshift...I'd be interested in this mod...I was a 2006 for sale a few months ago with this handle on it...
