My dealer tells me that the Sat Radio module for my car is backordered and won't be in for 30-90 days. I saw some posts from back in '05 with the same story.
Is this normal or is it the whole XM-Sirius merger that my service advisor is blaming?

I have the same issue. Got my 535i but have to wait 30 days or so for the SAT radio module. From what I was told it is due to the merger. XM/Sirius are manufacturing the modules to support the combined technology. Seems to be accurate as I tried to switch the remainder of the Sirrus subscription from the E500 that I replaced with the 535i to the families Honda Odyssey which has XM. The Sirrus rep could not do that and transferred me to XM who in turn could do nothing because the XM module in the Honda doesn't support Sirrius.

My car was supposed to come with the sat radio but didn't (later found out it's a dealer installed option, even when the car is ordered). Was told it would be April before the new modules are in and before I can get the sat radio. I've been so contempt with my iPod integration that I probably wouldn't have even ordered the sat radio had I known the iPod integration was so well. Can't get a refund, so I'll grab the sat radio when they're available.

Lol. Same thoughts I had. The iPod integration is fantastic and I just love it. Haven't thought about SAT since after connecting the iPod. By the way where are you in Atlanta?

You probably ordered the sat radio prep, which is just the wiring harness. I'm pretty sure you can order the actual sat radio as a factory option, if you chose the right option.

Looks like the Gen 2.5 (what appear to be the new) Sirius tuner modules are coming in. Ask your dealer... I have also recently seen a couple on ebay.
