Hi all, haven't posted in a bit and have done some search regarding this however, I wanted to get some input on what to change. Drove a 335 sedan with sport package this weekend and realized my car is not as firm and controlled as that vehicle. The ride used to be fairly good at 46k when I bought it, now at 70 it bounces a lot more than I remember. Is it the shocks or springs that needs to be replaced? I have a 525 with the sport package and needed to figure out what I needed to get. Looking around for shocks, I see 3 listings, M sport, Sport or Dynamic sport. What does this car require?

Our 04 Steering is junk compared to the new models 3 and 5. I test drove the 535 non sport and the suspension was ok but the wheel felt much much fimer, Updated springs and struts will be a huge improvement but the loose steering feel is still there, I think its a diff pump or rack possibly who knows.

Plus all new cars feel better!

If your car is feeling bouncy now I would say you may need new shocks and struts. If its time to replace the original shocks and struts you may want to consider switching to the bilstein sport shocks or the koni yellows. I switched tot he bilstein sports when I lowered the car and really like them plus they have lifetime warranty.

Where is a god place to order the parts? Is it struts all around or only up front? The car also has ARS, anything in particular to pay attention to with this?

I believe a few vendors on here sell the shocks and struts, try cehcking with trinity autosports. As for ARS I don't think there is anything different, but best to check with the vendor when purchasing.

How much do Bilstein or Koni Yellow shocks run for? I've heard Koni yellows run well with Eibach lowering springs. But it seems for that price, you might as well just hunt for a used of coilovers. KWv3 or KWv2 or Bilstein PSS9/10 I've seen run around here for $1,000-$1,300 which is a killer deal.

True. With updated parts/replacement parts, I am hoping to get better that stock feel. I read here that the OEM units are Sachs, would it be better to stick with those or would Bilstein be better? I did a mod on my Passat a few years back and the car had a slammed look (H&R springs with Bistein shocks) but rode and handled great. Had some suspension issues later which dealer said was due to suspension change. I use runflats and don't want the ride to be punishing. The 335 had runflats and was phenomenal! Coilovers are not in the budget.

The question is do I change just the shocks or do springs as well. Definitely don't want the car any lower than it is. Will the H&R for this vehicle lower the car any or will it remain at stock sport height?
