Fair enough, I'm considering using the plastic dip over the vinyl but I'm not sure yet.

I have blemishes from day 1 on my black trim I bought. I guess I wasn't careful enough and I have marks from the tool I was using to hammer it down despite using a towel

I honestly think, whether you are going to plastidip or vinyl, you will be better off taking removing the trim first. It might be more work but imo the results will most likely be a lot better.

I agree, I have painted my trim a few times and now it has vinyl on it. I was able to do the vinyl in my livingroom while watching sports.

Ehh... There's no way that this is easier than using Plasti Dip. You can literally finish up Plasti Dipping on both sides in under an hour. I doubt you can wrap this under an hour without it being extremely shitty.

I agree. I had a little experience working with vinyl while in art school, so I was somewhat comfortable with it. Even so, I had a good two to three hours in this project. This included the time I spent redoing a few pieces the following day in the sunlight.

I have ZERO blemishes on mine, you can feel it all the way everywhere and I guess thats what took me so much time to get at.
For the areas that had the chorme chipped, I first sanded it, then filled it with a little glue to make the surface even and then applied the Vinyl. Plus all the contour surfaces needed a lot of time with a heatgun to balance the vinyls with Zero bubles. It was something I enjoyed doing.
I very clearly remember it took me over 4 hours to do everthing.
I am very slow doing things the first time or the second time, but thats just me.

I've done it. It's not difficult, just time consuming. You need lots of patience
