OK all...I need quick help! I have an alpine white 07' 550i that is at the body shop waiting for me to decide on a face lift. I love the look of the 08' M5 front, but I keep reading that the M5 front with my E60 body creates a 10mm gap between the fenders and the bumper which will be extra visible on a white car. Does anyone have any knowledge of this?

Also, I've looked at pictures of the Rieger and Hamman front bumpers which have the same "basic" look at the M5, but I'm not sure if they have the same gap issue. Has anyone installed these on an E60 body without the M Aero kit? Any gap issues?

I also like the ACS front lip, but it basically costs the same as the complete bumper kits on the Rieger and others. Thoughts?

Last, I like the agressive spoiler look of the ACS. Any experience with fit on look alike manufacturers that don't cost $700 for a spoiler?

I've had a BAD experience buying knock-off ACS products that just fit like crap. I hate spending that ACS, Rieger, and Hamman money...any good fitting alternatives?

Quick help is appreciated!

Kenny

Get the MTech bumper, it fits and it's OEM, then get an M5 trunk finisher from me, and it's already painted AW

The MTech is the 08' M5 bumper manufacturer correct? WHat about the 10mm gap issue?

No, there is a very subtle difference , they look virtually the same and both are original parts. The M bumper is slightly wider to fit the M fenders which your car won't have . To achieve the same look and perfect fit go with the Mtech............ Good luck

So to make sure I understand what you are saying, the M Tech is not the same as the 2008 M5 front bumper, but is very similar. The M Tech bumper IS NOT wider like the 08' M5 bumper, so it doesn't create the gap issue. Is the M Tech made specifically to fit an E60 with standar fenders? Have you installed one on an E60 with standard fenders?

Hi, there are lots of Mtech bumpers all over the world really. You only get the fitment issue if you are trying to go M5 bumper on an e60 fenders. If you want the M5 bumper you need to get the M5 fenders so it fits with no gap or have your body shop bend the fenders in on your e60.

Unless you are a phenatic you can't tell the difference in the two bumpers. I can because I am a phenatic. check out some of the photos in the gallery
