I would doubt that it can plug directly into the back of the e60 stereo. I still think that you would have to use the aux input.
Still worth a try though.
My only other comment is that although it is a bonus to have no wires, in reality when using the ipod in the car it's probably best to have a mount an a charger anyway, so you might as well go for a cheaper cabled route.

Cool bit of kit - hadn't seen it before let alone tried it.

Aux would be ok, or swap out the cd changer. Is aux quality lower?
No news from Dension (www.dension.com ) they are supposedly working on the connection to Ipod through the nav screen. Ice-link Plus. Anyone have info on that?

I'm waiting for a replacement cable (monster icar) I have ordered as the Belkin one I am using has a pre-amp that stuffs the sound quality.
As I say, I don't think this would work in the place of the cd changer. I-drive is to clever (to stupid).
Ice-link is always a month or so away, last I heard was on this forum and the costs were nonsense.

Save your money. There are quite a few existing BT iPod solutions - some more elegant, and some worse.
It's only a matter of time before there is bluetooth A2DP in iPods. We're already seeing A2DP in mobile phones - begging the question of whether we need to even mess with an iPod. Just get a phone and a 2GB memory card for it.
We just need to get that profile supported in the e60 (and AVRCP if we're lucky). Did that Samsung phone/E60 integration ever materialize? That was going to leverage A2DP/AVRCP.

How long should I save my money for?
Is there anything you'd recommend now.
I love the car but the cd changer in the glove compartment is worthless to me.
Thx

Hey, sorry it took me so long to respond to this, I kinda forgot about it. Anyway, I think it's amazing. It works so well, and it sounds awesome. I hardwired the power in, then ran the double RCAs down to a single 1/8" stereo jack which plugs into the AUX input and it works perfect. Once you get the thing charged, the battery last as long as the battery of your iPod, I listened to the thing the whole day without having to plug it in. So if you want to be able to pass your iPod around in your car and want to be able to hold it in your hand while changing songs then I'd definitely get this. The only thing I would recommend doing is making sure that all of the songs on your iPod have a Bit Rate of at least 192 kbps, 260+ kbps sounds unbelievable. Although I'd recommend doing that no matter what. Hope that helps.
