I just installed the scoop today and took it out for a drive. Problem is that it has been really cold for the past 5 months in the 30s or below and today randomly was 75 degrees! Therefore I did not notice anything but then again did not notice it slower which for that mauch increase in temperature usually I feel that because it is quite humid in columbus and that humidity has a lot worse effect when warm. I will have to wait for another cool day to see.

One question is, why do the screws have the little piece (not sure what to call it) rather than just using the screw alone to attach the thing?

Also I used a piece of duck tape to bridge the edge of the scoop to the edge of the intake area. Not sure if anyone saw this on RPI sight but they gained 2hp by doing this since apparently the small dip between the edge of the scoop and the edge of the intake area caused turbulent flow and bridging it with a piece of smooth electrical or duct tape that is flat gained a couple HP so I would recomend doing this if you have not already.

Also forgot to ask, has anyone thought of taking the "grille" or mesh thingy off the entrance to the intake hole by the scoop. I am wondering if that dampens airflow at all and would it be better without any grille there

Yea I tried with scissors and knife but I couldn't cut through the plastic. I am pretty sure if you try it with a dremel it will be much easier but you would need to take of the front bumper. I think it does affect airflow and removing it will help increase flow into the airbox. Anyone know a easy way to remove the air intake grille?
