for the 128's 245/35 fr and 275/30 rear is recommended.. Do you think 245/40 fr and 275/35 rear will work? I just want to have more profile for potholes

The thing is to keep the same size in overall diameter. Using the last sizes it will increase the overall diameter of the wheel and even if it doesn't rub you'll get wrong or inaccurate speedometer readings.

I have 245/35 and 275/30 on style 128

No problems with potholes or rubbing, but you need to watch 'low' kerbs. Normal kerbs are OK - unless you hit them at speed (but then you'll damage any rim).

But with the low profiles if you slide against a lower kerb it's easy to scrape the sidewall and the rim.

I have goodyear eagle f1 tyres on the back, which have a soft protection strip (meant to protect the rims) on the sidewall, I have a 2" section of this which is 'loose' as a result of a low kerb alongside my drive.

I'm going to change my tyres for a brand without this as I did with my old m-sport coupe cause it just makes me worry (even though damage to the strip doesn't affect the tyre)

I understand the whole keeping the same diameter..but im not worried about if my speedometer reads slightly higher or slower speeds than actual..Has anyone run 245/40 front and 275/35 rear with no rubbing with no sport suspension
