I installed my RPI scoop last night (Thanks Trinity!). I have to say I was really surprised at how flimsy the metal was. This thing cost $100 I was expecting a much more solid unit. I could bend this thing in half if I wanted to. I understand that it is about the HP boost and I am not complaining in that regards. Certainly the $100 is worth the 5 or so HP boost you get. All I am saying is I was surprised it wasn't more solid. It makes me a little reluctant to buy the RPI exhaust now. Thoughts?

only one guy bought the rpi scoop in Hong Kong, he was happy with it, but yes the price is rather high
for the weight and R&D put in, but still a "cheap" mod.

I love my scoop. Doesn't have to be hard like a brick, just needs to direct air into your airbox. If installed correctly you shouldn't have any issues.

I have my RPI 550i exhaust in the car; just received it today. Waiting to head to the muffler shop in maybe another hour or two.

RPI exhaust is not flimsy at all.

what is a decent price for the scoop? thinking of ordering one...

How bulky and heavy do you think the RPI scoop SHOULD be?? I figure that being lighter weight and creating the airflow it does is just a win/win! :geek: As for the RPI exhaust, I'm sure it's MORE than up to your application, so DON'T worry about it, BUY IT!!

the scoops are made from alluminium to save weight. Since race precision is all about performance and racing they utilize the lightest materials possible to reduce weight. I have the RPI gt race exhaust on both my vehicles and am perfectly happy with them.

As matter of fact I raced a dinan m5 yesterday 5 times and he got smoked every single time by my RPI m5.
