RPI GT Axle Back Exhaust Before/After - 550i MSport

Coming from a Modded full exhaust with Corsa catback 09 CTSV (no drone) the bmw was just waaaayyyy too quiet.

Goal with all my cars is sleeper and a stock like look and driveability, just more insteresting, OEMPlus like.
Before showing stock fitment with Msport bumper.

Bought the exhaust from a forum member in WI. Excellent condition stock polished finish. Dropped it off for a gloss black powder coat at AZ custom coatings in Tempe, AZ. Bryan hooked me up at $150.
Great work, want to hang it on my wall in my office....

After....

Impressions are it does drone at low low rpm say 1500 rpm under load.
  • Highway crusing speeds no drone, very quiet.
  • Very mild exhaust.
  • Very deep, smooth sounding.
  • No vibrations or anything.
Being a german car I was hoping for more of a higher exotic, or bring out a fluttering type sound (VQ35) or something close to the CTSV with corsa.

Overall its a great daily driver, FK453 and the M suspension are just butter in the turns (why i went back to bmw), and great for baby haulin in a couple months (no alcantara).

Next I need to black out this ugly orange...suprised nobody has a cheap ebay gloss black vynl sticker to cover this??? (not bimmian tint)

I'd pop them off and take them to a local paint shop.

RPI exhaust looks great, nice work. For he reflectors, I had my tint guy vinyl them when he did my windows, cost me $20 extra.

Looks smooth powder coated... I'm about to order this just been hesitant on pulling the trigger I was suppose to do an RPI a looong time ago. Did you buy it used since you said you got it from a forum member.

Heck yea picked it up used in the classifieds. Thanks for all the options on the side markers.

I decided to go the easy route powder coat the 172 and do spacers. I don't want to wreck the ride going hella flush slammed on this project. Car rides so good as is.

Getting paint correction done in an hour :). Paint has never been cared for properly by prev owner.
