I spoke with Eloy of RPI and he says that AFE CAI will not work with the scoops. As for NeRwEEzy having the only non-M5 scoops, there's a reason. RPI will only produce performance parts that show a measurable gain on the Dyno Dynamics. NeRwEEzy's 530i was dynoed pre-scoops and with the scoops. There were no gains to be had. The 535i/545i/550i might show gains.
Thanks VT. I'd be interested to see if the 545i shows gains.

+1. when i was there, eloy said that the dyno should show a loss, and then gain. when my car was dynoed, it kept showing loss, then gain, then loss, then gain, then loss, and yeah you know what i mean. most gain it showed was 8 but since it kept fluctuating..... that's why before eloy was asking if there was a manual e60 that was stock to see if there is any real gain.

NeRwEEzy is right. His 530i wasn't the ideal 530i to have been the prototype b/c his Step can't hold gears even in Manual mode. Maybe if there were a SMG/6speed 530i then the gains can be confirmed. It's really important to stay in gear on the Dyno Dynamics for Eloy to measure any gains.

Anyway, navin has a 545i SMG so that will suffice to test on the Dyno Dynamics. My opinion is that the 535i/545i/550i will make some gains and possibly even a 2007 530i.

+1, but I think it will show more response probably after at least about 60 mph.

NeRwEEzy... your car isn't the only non-M with the scoop. Since RPI needed a manual tranny for the dyno, I had to jump right on it!

Unfortunately, like Weezy's car, the end result wasn't great. Since there weren't much gains to be had, Eloy said they probably won't be producing them. At first my butt-dyno noticed a slight difference--but I'm not sure how much of it is mental.

i have both. i was thinking the same as pentiumpush since seeing that the end of the outlet is in the area where the filter of the AFE is
Nerwyll - Does this make any difference on our cars? I already have the Remap, AFE CAI, SB and Exhaust. Will this make much of a difference on top of everything I already have? How much were they for our 530's?

What the hell am I doing!?!?!?! 11 months left and I still can't avoid spending money on this thing.

C, like fantastic5 said, i too did feel a butt dyno difference but also dont know how much of it was mental. where i did feel (or thought i did at least) a difference was mostly after 80 leading into triple digits. at the time when i was at Eloy's, he said if they went into production that they would probably be about $100-$150 per scoop.
