Does the Scoop provide any gains if you keep the stock air filter? What about a K&N replacement?

I have K&N and the scoop is MUCH less effective without the filter. Also, remember you won't feel much difference at slow speeds, but when passing on the freeway - wow.

So the BMC filter is pretty much a requirement? It's like $80, right? Seems expensive for an air filter.

To get back on topic....this is a question I was going to ask. Do you just buy the scoop or do you need a filter as well?

Yeah, the filter is recommended, you will feel more of a difference. (1900+ Bulldog, catch up )

I was just emailing with Trinity Autosport who said that the filter doesn't affect any HP gains. There is no difference between stock/BMC/K&N.

Hmmmm interesting....surely there's a thread out there that we can search that can confirm this.

Is this the scoop that is usually red and show behind the front kidney bean grill? If so, they are really sick looking IMHO.

A huge negative distraction to the otherwise mean and classy looking automobile.
