I have used the Dr. Colorchip kit, but not with success. I saw an add for it in the October issue of Roundel and decided to order for the 5-6 small rock chips on the front bumper/hood area, and others to come. My car is color 354, which is metallic. The paint would not stay mixed as the metallic particles fell out of solution almost immediately. I followed the instructions to the letter anyway, with the whole smear the glob with your finger, then use the paint remover to lift the excess. It just never looked right no matter how many times I did it. (Yes, I was careful and made several light passes, and no, I didn't push too hard.) Finally, I decided I must have faulty paint, not mixed properly or something, so I called them at their HQ in Palm Beach. The guy on the phone was really nice and even sent another bottle overnight. He said that since metallics have suspended particles, they generally are harder to work with, but could not fully explain. The second bottle was the same. I kept it as it makes for OK touch up paint for that "dabbed look," but it's not invisible. It may work for non-metallic paints, but not sure.
