i have couple of steering wheels from e60 with all leather scratched or damaged
would like to know how to make custom steering wheels similar to robson design(i hope i spelled it right)
i removed the leather on one of them , it seems easy work to reupholster it with new one , but what about making more aggressive form , making it thicker
i tried to find some info over the internet , but no luck.
appreciate your advices.

Why do you have multiple steering wheels? ![Tongue](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/tongue.gif)
I suppose you could stitch the new leather on, you could use something like what they use on the new F10 steering wheels or the M-Sport wheels.
That material is quite nice.

I've been thinking of doing this as well.
It'd be awesome to have one of the thicker feeling wheels, but I also have an interesting mix too... Car originally came with a non-sport heated steering wheel. I then swapped in a sport steering wheel, but without the heating option.
I'm thinking of reupholstering both of them, and swapping the heating element from the non-sport into the sport.
I'm quite handy with a needle and thread - I just need to go about finding the proper material to wrap it in and a good thread to go with it.
Has anyone done this before? Any suggestions on materials?

You may run into problems with the heating, steering wheels with heating have a different type of leather incorporated into them so you might need a heat conducting/resistant type of material?

the question is:
how to make it thicker ? change design of the wheel ? heated option is also would be nice to fit...
there is no problem finding leather or doing some stitching work ... i will double check with my friend , she is leather tailor.
